Product Information
Ellipticine hydrochloride is a glycoside derivative that belongs to the class of anti-infective agents. It is active against bacteria and fungi and has shown efficacy in animal models against human tumors. Ellipticine hydrochloride induces an increase in mitochondrial membrane potential, which is important for maintaining or restoring mitochondrial functions. It also inhibits polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity and DNA synthesis in human leukemia cells as well as mouse tumor cells. This drug has been found to form adducts with nucleosides, which affects its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA.
