Product Information
- 1-sec-Butyl-3-(4-chlorophenyl)urea
- urea, N-(4-chlorophenyl)-N'-(1-methylpropyl)-
1-Butan-2-yl-3-(4-chlorophenyl)urea is a synthetic molecule that contains a urea moiety and an amide. It inhibits the growth of the bacterium Philippinensis, which is found in human feces. The inhibitory effect may be due to its ability to interfere with bacterial DNA synthesis, although a detailed mechanism has not yet been elucidated. 1-Butan-2-yl-3-(4-chlorophenyl)urea has also been shown to have antidiabetic effects in mice by reducing intestinal glucose absorption and increasing insulin levels. This drug also contains flavonoids such as apigenin and eriodictyol, which are compounds that may be responsible for its pharmacokinetic properties.
