Product Information
- 1,2-Benzenediamine, 3,5-Dichloro-
3,5-Dichloro-1,2-diaminobenzene is a ligand that binds to transition metal ions such as nickel. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of the syncytial virus in cell culture. The synthesis of 3,5-dichloro-1,2-diaminobenzene from 3,5-dichloroaniline and hydrochloric acid can be achieved using the following reaction:
3,5-Dichloroaniline + HCl → 3,5-Dichloro-1,2-diaminobenzene + HNO3
This compound is also a precursor for the synthesis of pyrazole derivatives.
