Zinc carbonate basic is an antimicrobial agent that is a white crystalline powder. It has a reaction rate of 6.5-7.5 hours, and decomposes to zinc oxide and carbon dioxide with the release of heat during the reaction. The exothermic reaction can be accelerated by combining it with other catalysts such as hydrogenated aluminum or iron compounds. Zinc carbonate basic also exhibits synergic effects when combined with fluorescers, light exposure, and homogeneous catalysts such as titanium dioxide or iron oxide. This product is scalable for commercial production due to its simple synthesis process that takes only two hours to complete and yields high purity zinc carbonate basic in an energy efficient manner.
