Description:
1-Piperidin-2-yl-ethane-1,2-diol is a product that is synthesized by the reaction of hydroxide and aluminium. In this reaction, the hydroxide ion reacts with the aluminum to form a product that can be crystallized. This product is then treated with diethyl ether and sodium hydroxide in order to produce 1-piperidin-2-yl-ethane-1,2-diol. The catalytic property of 1-piperidin-2-yl ethane 1,2 diol has been shown in its ability to act as a catalyst for hydrolysis reactions.
