Product Information
(E)-2-(4-Nitrobenzylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide is a chemical compound with the formula CH3N(C6H4NO2)CH2NC(O)NH. It is an organic compound that has been shown to be a ligand for osmium and rhodium metal complexes. This ligand can be used in voltammetric studies of solvents, such as chloroform, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The chemical transformation of salicyaldehyde to (E)-2-(4-nitrobenzylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide was accomplished by refluxing with potassium hydroxide in ethanol.
