Quinolin-8-yloxy)-acetic acid is a synthetic compound that is a peptidomimetic and an oxalate receptor protein. It has been shown to be luminescent when reacted with water molecules in the presence of phenyl groups. Quinolin-8-yloxy)-acetic acid has been shown to enhance the emission of light from other molecules, such as quinine, by supramolecular interactions. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in animal models due to its ability to inhibit the aggregation of inflammatory cells and scavenge reactive oxygen species.
