Product Information
4-Butylpyridine is a heterocyclic compound with a protonated nitrogen atom. It can be found in cisplatin, which is an anticancer agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with the division and duplication of DNA. 4-Butylpyridine has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity in animal models, as well as decrease uptake of glucose into adipose tissue. This compound also has magnetic resonance spectroscopy properties and was shown to have a high affinity for chloride ions in silico analysis. The kinetic data for 4-butylpyridine suggests that it binds to magnesium ions with a high affinity.
