3-[(4-Aminophenyl)carbamoyl]propanoic acid is an amino acid that has been shown to be isomeric with succinic acid. It has been isolated from animal body fluids, such as blood and urine, and can be found in the form of its sodium salt. 3-[(4-Aminophenyl)carbamoyl]propanoic acid can be used to determine the antigenicity of a protein, by binding to specific sites on the protein and reacting with antibodies. This interaction can then be detected using a serological test. 3-[(4-Aminophenyl)carbamoyl]propanoic acid also has an anaphylactic effect on animals.
