Product Information
- Bromoantipyrine
4-Bromoantipyrine is a derivative of antipyrine. It is used as a metabolic probe to study the uptake of drugs into the brain and liver. 4-Bromoantipyrine binds to the drug carrier protein, albumin, in blood plasma, which increases its blood concentration and allows it to be detected in the brain and liver. 4-Bromoantipyrine has been used clinically as an indicator for reaction time in human volunteers. The level of 4-bromoantipyrine in urine reflects the reaction time because it is excreted unchanged by the kidney.
