It is used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as asthma and arthritis. 5-(3,4-Dimethoxy-phenyl)-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl-amine inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 by blocking its release from cells or by inhibiting cyclooxygenase.
