Description:
Oxo-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)acetic acid ethyl ester (TMPEA) is a pyrrolidinyl triazine that acts as an antagonist of the plant hormone auxin. It has been shown to inhibit amino acid production and protein synthesis in plants. TMPEA also inhibits the production of the photosensitizer hypersecretion, which may be due to its ability to produce morpholinyl substances. TMPEA has been shown to have antidepressant properties in mice and rats when administered at low doses.
