Description:
2-(Morpholin-4-yl)acetamide is a hydrogen bond donor that has anti-inflammatory properties and is used in the treatment of cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of influenza virus in vitro, with a potency similar to oseltamivir phosphate. 2-(Morpholin-4-yl)acetamide binds to the active site of influenza virus neuraminidase and blocks its activity, which prevents viral release from infected cells. This drug also inhibits inflammation by inhibiting leukocyte chemotaxis and their activation by preventing the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2.
