Product Information
- 3,4-Dihydrocoumarin-7-ol
- 7-Hydroxy-2-chromanone
7-Hydroxychroman-2-one is a natural product that is catalytically active. It is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme hmao-a, which is involved in the oxidation of aromatic compounds. 7-Hydroxychroman-2-one also has neuroprotective effects and can be used as a therapeutic drug for Parkinson's disease. The catalytic ability of this compound has been demonstrated by its ability to catalyze the transfer hydrogenation of various substrates under mild conditions. This natural product has been shown to be an excellent catalyst for the synthesis of organic molecules with an overall yield of up to 95%. 7-Hydoxychroman-2-one has also been shown to inhibit the pathogenesis of certain bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
