4H,5H,6H-Cyclopenta[D][1,3]thiazole is an antiinflammatory agent that has been shown to be effective in animal models for the treatment of inflammation. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of arachidonic acid metabolism by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. 4H,5H,6H-Cyclopenta[D][1,3]thiazole also inhibits the formation of leukotriene B4 from arachidonic acid. It is structurally related to 2-aminothiazole and has a similar mechanism of action.
