Product Information
Octaethylene glycol monohexadecyl ether (ODGME) is a cationic surfactant that can be synthesized with sodium citrate. It has been shown to lyse cells in vitro, and at high concentrations, it can cause cell membrane lysis. The ODGME-induced cell death is due to the action of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), which causes the release of intracellular potassium ions, leading to osmotic lysis. The ODGME molecule has also been found to have adrenergic receptor agonist activity and high resistance against electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
