Acid Red 60 is a polymer film that belongs to the group of organic solvents. It is a synthetic dyestuff that has an acidic pH and resists light, which makes it suitable for use as a pigment in paint or ink. Acid Red 60 is produced by the reaction of formaldehyde with phthalic anhydride. The chemical structure of Acid Red 60 consists of hydroxyl groups and carbonyl groups, which are responsible for its colouring power. This dye also has two different isomers, one red and one orange. The red form can be manufactured in the form of microspheres with optical properties. Acid Red 60 is used as a polymerization inhibitor in photopolymerization reactions, as well as a paper sizing agent in the paper-making industry.
