Product Information

Name:
Yttrium(III) carbonate trihydrate (reo)
Synonyms:
  • YttriumcarbonatetrihydrateREOwhitepowder
  • Yttrium(+3) Cation Carbonate Trihydrate
Description:

Yttrium(III) carbonate trihydrate (reo) is a perovskite. It is an inorganic compound that belongs to the group of polycarboxylic acids. Reo can be synthesized by the addition of YCl3 to a solution of sodium carbonate and hydrochloric acid. The particle size of reo is approximately 1-2 micrometers and it has a density of approximately 5 g/cm3. Reo can be used as an additive in polyvinyl chloride, which reduces viscosity and creates a more durable product. Reo has also been shown to have reducer properties, which may be due to its ability to reduce metal ions such as Zr4+ or Ti4+.
