Didodecyl Succinate is a synthetic antioxidant used as a food additive. It is a white, odorless, crystalline powder that has the ability to inhibit oxidation reactions in fats and oils. The succinic acid ester of didodecyl alcohol (DDSA) is an ester of succinic acid and didodecyl alcohol. DDSA can be used as a synthetic antioxidant in foods because it does not cause discoloration or off-flavors. This product also has thermochromic properties and can be used for microencapsulation.
