Description:

3,4-Dihydro-3-hydroxy-Xanthyletin is a crystalline compound that is found in the family Rutaceae and in fruit trees such as Citrus. It has been used to treat cancerous growths, as well as other types of infections. 3,4-Dihydro-3-hydroxy-Xanthyletin inhibits bacterial growth by disrupting their cell membranes. The mechanism for this inhibition is not yet known but may be due to its ability to act as an acid or base in water. This compound can also be used to treat cavities due to its ability to inhibit bacterial growth. 3,4-Dihydro-3-hydroxy-Xanthyletin has been shown to have biological properties that are similar to those of benzoate and can also be used in tissue culture experiments.
