Description:

BOC-O-ethyl-L-tyrosine is a synthetic amino acid that can be used to study the kinetics and thermodynamics of peptide synthesis. It has been shown to act as a competitive inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, with an IC50 value of 3.2 μM. BOC-O-ethyl-L-tyrosine is prepared by reacting ethyl bromoacetate with L-tyrosine in the presence of sodium hydroxide.
