1,2-Bis-(3-aminopropoxy)-ethane is an organic compound that is used as a solvent for ethylene. It has also been shown to be useful in titrating alkali metal cations. The macrocyclic form of this compound is the calixarene, which has been shown to have osmotic properties. 1,2-Bis-(3-aminopropoxy)-ethane can be synthesized from naphthalene and amide or diethylene glycol. This compound also reacts with metal cations to form complexes.
