[1,4-Bis(diphenylphosphino)butane](1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I) tetrafluoroborate is a compound with the formula Rh[P(COD)(CO)(CF)]BF. It is a member of the family of organometallic complexes containing the [Rh(CO)(dppe)] unit. The complex has been applied in the study of protein sequences and magnetic hyperpolarization. Hyperpolarization can be achieved by irradiation with circularly polarized light or thermally. This process results in an increase in the electron density on one side of the molecule relative to the other. The magnetic field generated by this asymmetry can be detected by spectrometers as a change in resonance frequency.
