Description:

6-(1-Bromoethyl)-4-chloro-5-fluoropyrimidine is an organic solvent that is used in the production of benzyl and triazoles. It inhibits corrosion by reacting with chlorine, zinc sulfate, and acid catalyst. 6-(1-Bromoethyl)-4-chloro-5-fluoropyrimidine is synthesized by reaction of chloro with zinc sulfate in the presence of a base. The product is then reacted with trifluoromethyl to form the desired product. This compound has been shown to be an effective corrosion inhibitor for steel pipes and other metal surfaces.
