2-Bromo-6beta,9-Difluoro-11beta,17,21-Trihydroxypregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione 17,21-di(acetate) is a model system for the study of choroidal neovascularization. It is a biocompatible polymer that has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo studies. 2BDPMPDA is cytotoxic to cells at high concentrations due to its hydroxyl group. It shows inhibitory properties towards inflammation and infectious diseases. 2BDPMPDA also has receptor activity with fatty acid receptors.
