Description:
(1,2-Bis[(2S,5S)-2,5-diethylphospholano]benzene(1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodiuM(I) tetrafluoroborate) (BPEPR) is a novel catalyst for the asymmetric reduction of racemic α-keto acids. The catalyst is used in the synthesis of glutamic acid by reduction of 2,5-diethyl phosphonoacetaldehyde with sodium borohydride. The catalyst has been shown to produce high enantioselectivity in the reduction of α-keto acid substrates.
