3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)styrene is a compound that exhibits luminescence properties. It has been used extensively as a probe in the study of amine reactivity and kinetics. The functional theory states that the rate of reaction is determined by the activation energy. It has been shown that 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)styrene reacts more quickly when nitro groups are present on its molecule. Additionally, it has been shown to be more reactive towards primary amines than secondary amines. This differential reactivity is due to the bond cleavage between two carbon atoms on the phenyl ring and the nitrogen atom respectively. 3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)styrene undergoes fluidity which allows it to flow freely like a liquid under normal conditions. However, at elevated temperatures or pressures it becomes rigid and brittle like a solid with no flowability. 3,5-
