Product Information
- 1,3,4-Oxadiazole, 2-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-
2-tert-Butyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole is a diazotized compound that inhibits the aminopeptidase enzyme. Inhibition of this enzyme will halt protein synthesis and lead to cell death. This compound is used as an inhibitor in the study of peptide bonds in proteins. 2-tert-Butyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole has been shown to be selective for the active site of aminopeptidase A and aminopeptidase B. This compound has also been shown to inhibit proline cleavage by aminopeptidase B and proteolytic enzymes such as trypsin, pepsin, chymotrypsin, papain, and elastase. The crystal structure of 2-tert-Butyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole has been characterized using X ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
