3-bromo-2-fluorotoluene is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 216°C. It has been shown to react with potassium tert-butoxide in the presence of hydrogen chloride to produce an addition product, which is then hydrolyzed by water to yield 3-chloro-2-fluoroanisole (3CFA).
