Product Information
- Phenol, 4-bromo-2-chloro-6-fluoro-
- 4-Bromo-2-chloro-6-fluorophenol
4-Bromo-2-chloro-6-fluorophenol is a molecule that has a hydrogen bond with the hydroxyl group. Hydrogen bonds are formed when two molecules are attracted to each other because they share an electron pair. The intramolecular hydrogen bonds form within the molecule, which is not seen in intermolecular hydrogen bonds. When this compound was irradiated with UV light, it showed a spectrum that contained peaks at wavelengths of 260 nm and 275 nm. This may be due to the presence of an intramolecular hydrogen bond between the bromine atom and either the chlorine or fluorine atom.
