Description:

1-[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethanol is an optical chiral selector that is used in the synthesis of β-cyclodextrin. It also has been used as a ligand to catalyze the transfer hydrogenation of sulfides and to facilitate the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of phosphines. 1-[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethanol has been shown to be a high yield ligand for ruthenium complex catalysis. This compound can also be used as a chiral auxiliary for the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of c3-6 cycloalkyls.
