4-bromo-1-iodobenzene is a benzamide that has been used in medicinal chemistry as an analgesic. It is converted to the metabolite 4-bromo-1-iodo-2-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene sulfone, which acts as a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme cytochrome P450.
