Description:

N-Boc-(S)-Nipecotic acid is a novel oxadiazole derivative that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro. It was found to selectively kill cancer cells by targeting glutamate receptors and altering the physiochemical properties of these cells. In addition, N-Boc-(S)-Nipecotic acid is an allosteric modulator of the GABAA receptor, which may be responsible for its ability to inhibit cancer cell growth. This drug also inhibits platelet aggregation, thus reducing atherosclerotic lesions in mice.
