Product Information
4-Bromo-2-thiophenesulfonyl chloride is a potent endothelin receptor antagonist that binds to the endothelin receptor, inhibiting the binding of endothelin and preventing it from activating its receptors. In vitro binding studies have shown 4-bromo-2-thiophenesulfonyl chloride to be a potent inhibitor of endothelin. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of endothelin with high affinity, and this inhibition has been shown in vivo, as well. The compound was also found to be an effective inhibitor of thromboxane synthetase in vitro and in vivo. This makes 4-bromo-2-thiophenesulfonyl chloride a promising drug for treating hypertension, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, or vascular dementia.
