Description

Tert-butyl piperidin-3-ylmethylcarbamate is an antithrombotic drug that belongs to the class of carboxamides. It is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers, one with a right-handed chiral center and the other with a left-handed chiral center. Tert-butyl piperidin-3-ylmethylcarbamate inhibits platelet activation by reducing the formation of thromboxane A2 (TXA2) from arachidonic acid. This agent also reduces collagen synthesis in blood vessel walls, which may reduce the risk for atherosclerosis and thromboembolism.
