Tert-butyl 4-hydroxyphenylcarbamate is a linker that is used in the assembly of nanomaterials, such as nanotubes. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Tert-butyl 4-hydroxyphenylcarbamate has also been shown to have potential antitumor activity through inhibition of cXCR4, which regulates T cell trafficking and cytokine production. The reactive group, tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc), can be removed by treatment with strong acid, enabling it to be used for amine synthesis. This compound can also be used as a crosslinker during solid phase synthesis.
