Description

6-Bromo-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole is an antibacterial agent that is structurally related to ethanone. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against a wide range of bacteria and fungi. 6-Bromo-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole has also been found to be active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. 6-Bromo-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole is structurally related to the heterocyclic compound carbazole. The heterocyclic ring system consists of six carbon atoms with two nitrogen atoms on opposite sides of the ring system. This structure gives the molecule its antibacterial properties.
