Description

2-{4-[(Benzylamino)methyl]-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl}-N-phenylacetamide hydrochloride (BZP) is a pyridyl compound that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the bacterial ribosome and preventing protein synthesis. BZP has been shown to be active against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Acinetobacter baumannii. It has also been found to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). BZP is not active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex.
