Description:

2-Bromomethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran is a brominating agent that is used to synthesize the corresponding brominated derivative, such as 2-bromo-5-methylphenol. The hypothesized mechanism of this reaction is that it follows an electrophilic substitution process.
