Description:

2-Bromo-3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid (2BTMBA) is an epoxide that can be obtained from the natural product Peltophorum africanum. It has been shown to be a potent radical cyclization agent and an electrophile. 2BTMBA is used in organic synthesis as a precursor for the synthesis of carbonyl compounds and chalcones. This chemical is also used as a fungicide in agriculture.
