4-Bromo-2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)phenol is a compound that is being investigated for its potential use as an antiviral agent. It has shown to have strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. 4-Bromo-2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)phenol also has the ability to bind with metal ions such as copper, silver, and zinc. This binding inhibits the replication of DNA in certain bacteria and viruses. The biological activity of 4-bromo -2-(1H-pyrazol 3yl)phenol is measured by determining its inhibition of viral or bacterial growth in vitro. The measurement method used to determine the biological activity of this compound is UV spectroscopy using a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength changes in light absorption at 254 nm after exposure to 4 - bromo - 2 ( 1H - pyrazole 3yl) phenol.
