Description:

(3-Bromobenzyl)dimethylamine is a reagent that can be used for the synthesis of benzyl alcohol. It has been shown to be useful in the determination of the efficiency of ligation mediated by DNA polymerases and DNA ligase. It can also be used as a probe to detect the presence of chloride ions in an x-ray crystallography experiment, or as an analytical reagent to measure the pH. The chemical compound has also been shown to have coulombic efficiency in reactions with chloramine-T.
