Description

5-(Benzyloxy)-1H-indol-1-yl]acetic acid is a small molecule that competitively inhibits the reductase enzyme. It has been shown to have low activity in inhibiting human reductase and also binds to rat reductase. 5-(Benzyloxy)-1H-indol-1-yl]acetic acid is a ligand that can be used as a lead compound for the development of novel reductase inhibitors. 5-(Benzyloxy)-1H-indol-1-yl]acetic acid has been shown to inhibit kidney aldehyde reductase and Pparγ ligand, which may have therapeutic applications in diabetes.
