Product Information

Name:
1-Benzylpiperdine-4-carboxyamide
Description:

1-Benzylpiperdine-4-carboxyamide is a cholinergic drug that has been found to have an inhibitory effect on the L-type calcium channel. It also blocks the T-type calcium channels and has been shown to lower blood pressure in hypertensive rats. It may work by blocking the receptor for acetylcholine, thereby inhibiting the activity of cholinergic neurons. This drug is structurally similar to benzylpiperidine, which is used as a local anesthetic. 1-Benzylpiperdine-4-carboxyamide is not currently approved for use in humans but may be useful in treating hypertension.
