Description:
Benzothiazole-6-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is a benzoxadiazole compound that has been shown to have affinity for the nucleoside transporter. This substance is a potent inhibitor of human DNA polymerase α and has been shown to inhibit nitrobenzylthioinosine-induced cytotoxicity in vitro. The substitution of the benzoxadiazole ring system with other functional groups such as nitro, sulfonamide, or amino acids could lead to novel compounds with improved properties.
