2-Butyl-1H-benzimidazole is a hydrocarbon that is used as a potential cancer drug. It has been shown to bind to the at1 receptor and block the binding of angiotensin II, which controls blood pressure. 2-Butyl-1H-benzimidazole also blocks the production of reactive oxygen species in cells and prevents DNA damage by inhibiting the activity of xanthine oxidase. This drug has a low viscosity, allowing it to be administered orally or intravenously. 2-Butyl-1H-benzimidazole binds to anionic surfaces such as microparticles and organic solvents, which may increase its effectiveness.
