Description:
2-Bromo-N,N-diphenylbutanamide is an industrial chemical that belongs to the class of alkylating agents. It has been used for the industrial production of polyalkylene polyamines and polyethylene polyamines. The compound is a racemic mixture with two isomers: 2-bromo-N,N-diphenylbutanamide (2BDP) and 2-bromo-N,N'-diphenylpropaneamide (2BPP). The former is an enantiomer with a higher yield than the latter. This compound can be used for the synthesis of alkenes and alkynes. In addition, 2BDP can be used for the selective isomerization of unsymmetrical alkenes to produce chiral alkenes. A hydroalkylation reaction can also be carried out using this compound as a catalyst.
