6-Bromo[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine is a catalytic reagent that is used in the synthesis of triazolopyridines. It is efficient and has high yields. It can be used for cross-coupling reactions to functionalize organic compounds. The transformation can be carried out by adding 6-bromo[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine with benzyl bromide and copper iodide in the presence of a base to produce the desired product. This process leads to the formation of a six membered ring with an attached nitrogen atom which is then further modified by substitution reactions.
