1-Benzyl-3,5-dibromo-1H-1,2,4-triazole is a compound that can be synthesized in two steps from commercially available starting materials via a sequential reaction sequence. The synthesis starts with the coupling of an amino group with a pinacol ester to give 1-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-3,5-dibromo-1H-1,2,4-triazole. This intermediate is then alkylated with an azido group to afford the desired product 1-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-3,5-dibromo-1H-[1,2,4]triazole. This compound can be used as a building block for other chemical compounds and has been shown to be efficient in transition metal catalyzed coupling reactions.
