Product Information
- Butanoic Acid, 2-(1-Oxobutyl)Hydrazide
- N'-Butyrylbutanehydrazide
N'-Butyrylbutanohydrazide is a carboxylic acid with a molecular weight of 122.1 g/mol, solubility in water of 1.9 g/L at 25°C, and boiling point of 149°C. It has been used as a corrosion inhibitor for nonferrous metals and as an additive to plastics and rubbers to improve their physical properties. N'-Butyrylbutanohydrazide can be used in semi-empirical calculations to estimate the electron density distribution on the molecule. This molecule has two conformers, one with a valeric group on the left side (shown) and another with its valeric group on the right side. The two conformers are not identical, so they have different physicochemical properties such as melting point or boiling point.
